Our Story

In the street within walking distance from the Grote Markt, near the most beautiful square of Antwerp, the Hendrik Conscienceplein Mike took on restaurant De Peerdestal  20 years ago.
By Mike his passion for qualityfood,  sense of atmosphere and spontaneous hospitality the restaurant  quickly developed a solid culinary value in Antwerp.

'Dry Aged'

For two year the restaurant owns its maturation fridge cabinet where dry aged meat is matured.
During dry aging the meat is still fuller and has more tender taste says Mike. Depending on the market we mature Rubia Gallega, Black Aberdeeg Agnus, Limousin, Holsteiner, Belgisch Blauw Wit (BBB), Anjou en Simmentaler. This unique taste sensation prepared in our “Josper” oven is without comparison!”

In addition to beef and horsemeat De Peerdestal has also a fresh supply of fish, lobster and seafood. You can also come to us for a delicious lobster menu with lobster from our own lobster tank.
